The Grand Lake O' the Cherokees lives up to its name when it comes to our guests' favorite pastime: fishing! Marina Del Rey Resort lies minutes away from the Grand Lake shore, making it a convenient place to angle up some unsuspecting fish.
Planning a fishing trip here doesn't need to be complicated, and we hope that this fishing guide helps you plan it more effectively. At Marina Del Rey, we want your only worry to be that you're catching TOO many fish.
Grand Lake Boat Rentals
While you can fish on the Grand Lake shoreline, it's more fun to hop in a boat and head to the deep. Many of our guests bring their own boats and dock them with us, as we have several boat slips on the property. But other guests may not have their own boat, instead choosing to rent during their stay.
H20 Sports Rentals
Marina Del Rey recommends renting from H20 Sports Rentals. They have pontoon, jet boat, and fishing boat rentals, all of which could work for a week on the lake. If you have any interest in this, learn more through the link below!
Another thing you'll need before you start casting to crappies is your Oklahoma Fishing License. They are exceptionally easy to buy (especially online) and relatively inexpensive for the benefits it gives you.
How old do you have to be for an Oklahoma fishing license?
Anyone 15 and under can fish for free in Oklahoma. 16-17-year-olds must buy the youth annual pass, and 18+ must have a standard fishing license.
Seniors (age 65+) can pay for a lifetime fishing license at $15.

If you want to double-check fishing regulations in Oklahoma, take a peek at the guidebook for fishing. It will review limits on different types of fish, bait restrictions, and license requirements.
